First and foremost, it's an interactive reproduction of the interface of the supercomputer that the nerd of the group, Jeremy, uses in an abandonned factory to send his friends in a dangerous virtual world, Lyoko. This is also 3D adventure game that happens within the 'real' world of the series.

It has two main modes: "Custom Game" and "Story Mode". Custom Game is a sandbox that allows the player to change several settings about the game to create their own experience while Story Mode follows a completely new unique story separated into different chapters.
