About My Save State
My Save State is a free site for keeping a history of every game you play.
What you can do
- Log every game you play. Each play gets its own entry: the year (or the exact day), the platform, a rating from half a star to five, how it went, and a review if you want to write one. Played it again? Log it again.
- Keep a Want to Play list of the games you're excited about next. Logging a game takes it off.
- Keep track of your collection: the copies you own, physical or digital, on every platform.
- Mark the games you love with a heart.
- Follow friends and see what they're playing, reviewing and adding.
- Look back on everything you've played, year by year.
Why it's built this way
Your history is made of plays, not shelves. There's no "currently playing" status to keep up to date and no backlog to feel guilty about: you log a game when you play it, and over time your logs become the story of what you've played. If you use Letterboxd for movies, it works the same way for games.
Where the games come from
Game details, covers and release dates come from IGDB, which covers more than 350,000 games across every platform. Ratings, reviews and logs come from members here.
