It is up to the player, as either Marco or Maria, two Mexican kids, to protect the healthy animals by flinging a variety of weapons at the zombified creatures.

While the playfield, with a lane system, looks the same as in Plants vs. Zombies, no stationary weapons need to be constructed. Instead, the player draws a path for the character to throw their weapon along, which will fly-return like a boomerang. Certain types of weapons are more effective against certain animals. Each killed zombie will leave a coin, and multiple zombie kills in one path will produce several. These need to be tapped in order to collect them, and in turn they can be exchanged for weapon upgrades, powers, or costumes. Read more
