It was exhibited again at public location tests in 2015 under a working title of "The Grand Master," omitting "Tetris" from the name due to lack of an active license. The game's initially planned arcade release was in limbo for over a decade, citing various problems reaching an agreement with publishers or The Tetris Company. Arika eventually secured a license for a home PC release after meeting a pre-condition of successful sales figures for the Switch and PlayStation 4 ports of "Tetris: The Grand Master" and "Tetris: The Absolute - The Grand Master 2 Plus."
