The game was announced on 9 February 2010 and released on 30 September 2010 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, aiming to compete with the FIFA series. However, the UK version of the game was released on 8 October 2010.

Both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League were featured in the game, as in the previous year, and for the first time, the Copa Libertadores was fully licensed. Read more
