Players can choose between 30 different starters, ranging from the first two starter trios plus Pikachu, baby Pokémon, and challenge starters like Unown or Smeargle. They are also able to choose between different trainer designs and choose their initial starting town. Gym Battles are scaled based on previous badges, meaning that Gyms always match the player's overall progress, no matter the order. Read more
