Up to 150 players parachute onto a large map, scavenge weapons and equipment, and fight to be the last squad standing as the playable area shrinks. The game features an in-game currency system for purchasing loadout drops and other tactical items, as well as a unique respawn mechanic called the Gulag, where eliminated players can fight for a second chance. Originally released as a companion to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), the game was later integrated with Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard content before its servers were shut down in September 2023, succeeded by a 2022 reboot also titled Warzone.
